A week bustling with activity and celebration!
We celebrated the launch of our new book, Contemporary Salvage, Designing Homes from a Philosophy of Reuse, last week. The venue was Retrouvius’ very own home and studio – also recently featured in The World of Interiors. Read our feature here.
Coinciding with the book’s launch, Maria was on the `Conversations in Design’ stage at The Design Centre as part of Focus25, speaking with World of Interiors editor, Emily Tobin in a conversation that captured both her philosophy and her playful spirit.
Tobin described her as “conscientious without being sanctimonius” and their conversation revealed exactly that: an approach to salvage that is joyful, tactile and creates deeper emotional connection with the space we live in.
As Maria said of the projects in our new book, “they are my children too. I hope they grow old and have a life full of feeling”.
