A brothel bench from Paris, late 19th century.

Constructed in pine, we have had this reupholstered in reclaimed red leather, while preserving the original worn velvet underneath.

One half adjusts like a modern exercise bench, but the seat is notably higher.

Two different levels of steps run along each side, for ease of access.

Manufactured by Mon Augoyard on Rue St Lazare, Paris.

Scuffs and marks commensurate with long use.

Would have once had two leather foot straps on each side.
