A handsome example of a traditional Malian mudcloth.
Mudcloth textiles are crafted from handmade cotton dyed with layers of mud, collected from streams and ponds and fermented over several seasons. This process creates a striking geometric pattern that reflects a tradition dating back to the 12th century.
This piece has been backed onto hessian with a velcro attachment – ideal for use as a wall hanging.
