Over the years Retrouvius has sourced lighting from a huge variety of buildings; factories, large commercial spaces, French farms, Italian apartamento, chapels.
Our restored historic shades complement Edwardian, Mid Century, industrial and other spaces make lighting more than just functional. Fittings from well known companies such as Holophane, Thorlux and Gecoray, sit alongside French frilly glass plates and Czech Modernism in our shop.
In the early Twentieth Century, at the advent of mass electrification of homes, lighting was expensive and celebrated with extremely ornate fittings.
Retrouvius supplies lighting ready to install, having been PAT tested and professionally tested. Flex comes in a variety of colours, wired to BC standard at two metre lengths.
We have a small selection of rare Warren Platner designed lights.
Originally produced in relatively small quantities in the late 1970s and 1980s they bring a shoulder pad swagger to a curvaceous deco style.
A curved brass front and painted steel centre holds ES lampholders.
Our team used Warren Platner wall lights alongside cork lined walls to channel the spirit of 1970 in Helios 710 - a duplex penthouse in the former BBC Television Centre - working with Bella Freud and Piercy & Co Architects to design this project for Stanhope.
