An update from our project in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The Retrouvius Design studio are doing the interiors of this rare Georgian building that looks out over the southernmost peninsular on the Isle of Harris.
Once upon a time Adam hills and Maria Speake, the salvage supremos behind Retrouvius, moved into a 1970s flat built by his father on the roof of a London mansion block. And there the couple lived happily ever after until deciding it was due a radical but respectful refresh. Deploying reclaimed cladding, patinated parquet and fluted columns from a former department store, they've ingeniously given the place its grove back
Thank you to Simon Upton for his brilliant photographs, Ruth Guilding for the write up and big thanks to all at The World of Interiors
