Across the project’s development, Bleat founder Tristin Norwell became a familiar face in the Retrouvius shop and has incorporated salvaged, reclaimed, vintage and sustainable materials throughout the studio’s multifunctional editing rooms. Earlier this month he gave us the grand tour.

Previously used for storing maturing cheeses, these pine boards have a visually soft and tactile chalky finish that we love.
Retrouvius sell the boards in their original salvaged condition. They do not smell of cheese!

Our cheeseboards bring a rustic cabin-like warmth to a space.
Reuse them as wall cladding, drawer fronts and shelving.
Used to clad a whole room the repeating circular markings add a calming organic quality.




They come in unusually long lengths.
Allow the boards to acclimatise to site conditions before fitting. Some natural movement will happen with environmental moisture changes.
