Across the project’s development, Bleat founder Tristin Norwell became a familiar face in the Retrouvius shop and has incorporated salvaged, reclaimed, vintage and sustainable materials throughout the studio’s multifunctional editing rooms. Earlier this month he gave us the grand tour.

Re-use in Action: Ceramic Hooks, Toothbrush Holders and Soap Dishes
These Belgian made tiles are dead stock from the 1970's and were probably made for domestic use. We love that they were fashionable at one time and the popularity for their look faded - yet remarkably they have sat unused for decades until Adam chanced upon them.
Retrouvius loves the pastel tones and variations in colour - so of their period and with a strong chronological design identity. Love them or loathe them, they have their own distinctive charm!
We have several crates of these tiles that we are selling in roughly one square metre batches for re-use.

We recommend working with a combination of colours and enjoy their curvaceous sculptural quality and the rhythm created by repetition.
Try re-using by fitting into a frame and setting within a stud wall. A floor to ceiling strip, a high level frieze, a panel set into a wet room. A sculptural piece of wall art.

Our fabulous friend and fashion designer Ashish Gupta has used them in his home
