Country House
Suffolk
Completed November 2001
A large Edwardian summer house, a faded time-warp
of a past era needed gently nudging into the 21st Century.
Two things were carried out; firstly conversion
of the old servants wing, demarcated by the ubiquitous green
baize door, was to be modernised to suit a young familys
needs for example introducing new bathrooms using antique
sanitary-ware. Secondly all the original public entertaining
rooms needed careful re-organisation, furniture, paintings,
mirrors & lights were heaved, hauled and re-hung to create
a previously lacking cohesion and focus to each of the spaces.
Back breaking stuff but a simple & inexpensive way to
re-fresh what was feeling tired!
