Suspended Living article, July 2001
From his ceiling mounted bed,
fashion photographer Guy Hills has an elevated view
over his open plan space, a converted coach house in
Camden, North London.
Guy wanted a large kitchen for dinner
parties, a study where he could store his work and see
clients, a capacious wardrobe, access to the roof terrace
and somewhere to sleep. All in one room. Hence
the bed was suspended from the ceiling, leaving the
entire floor space free for the living area with
a study on one side, kitchen/bathroom on the other.
