Location

Retrouvius opens temporary ‘Christmas’ shop.

At last Clerkenwell-ites have a place to do their designer Christmas shopping.

For two months only Retrouvius are reclaiming the former Quiet Revolution café on Old Street to transform it into an emporium of post war design goodies.

From Basil Spence designed desks to vintage accessories and books, Retrouvius is the place to come. If contemporary design is more your thing, in addition the shop will stock pieces by up and coming designers including the 'Lampshadow' lampshade by William Warren and cushions by Rhonda Drakeford of Multistorey - which will make perfect Christmas presents.

Retrouvius has been running since 1993 selling architectural salvage and antiques, as well as designing interiors and buildings. They have a trade warehouse in Kensal Green but this is their first retail outing.

So whether your designer/architect loved-one craves a rosewood desk or 1940’s cookery books for Christmas this is the perfect retro-modern retail therapy.

Prices range from £2 to £2,000.
