Country Cottage, Suffolk Suffolk A beautiful listed cottage, with a boxy '80's extension: our task was to create a layout that would suit a young family while toeing the line with a local planning department. Dictated by the fact that the grade II listing extended to the whole of the building, we were unable to make any alteration to the outside appearance and were forced to look inwards to achieve our goal... The flow of rooms in the old cottage was left untouched, while the more modern structure was gutted of it's little rooms and a generous kitchen created. A new stair gives access to a substantial master suite, whose wall of fabric covered cupboard doors disguises the entrance to a calm and comfortable en-suite. Materials are natural without being too rustic, with a pallet of reclaimed teak, oak and travertine softened with printed and plain linens..
